A tremendous success at the Milipol Asia-Pacific 2019, held in 1st week of April! The exhibition gave us the opportunity to highlight the wide range of security technologies and homeland products that demonstrated advanced threat protection. We also took advantage of the exhibition to present a new product from USA – HBI-120, a Handheld X-Ray Imager developed by Viken Detection (formerly Heuresis) using backscatter X-ray technology.
In March, our ICT team from BEAQON participated in NSCC’s ((National SuperComputing Center) annual SCAsia 2019 Conference held at Suntec Convention & Exhibition Center. For 3 days, the BEAQON team met up with a wide range of HPC users from various fields and industries, exchanging brilliant ideas and discussing areas of HPC collaborations and projects.
SCAsia (Super Computing Asia) is Asia Pacific’s premiere Super Computing conference bringing together HPC (High Performance Computing) industry experts, academia researchers, hardware/software vendors and HPC systems integration providers like BEAQON to showcase, share, update and collaborate on the latest HPC technologies and projects.
8 years of incorporation! BEAQON grew from a 4-man crew to a big family we have now!
Exciting Games, Lucky Draws and Delicious Food were the programs of the day. A shoe bag as a door gift was given to every attendee – as a form of encouragement to spark a fitness routine. Long Service Awards were presented to our dedicated employees who have stayed with us and gave us their best! GEM awards together with BEAQON Core Values Award (Tenacity) were also presented on the same day too! Congrats to all recipients!
A fantastic ½ day outdoor fun for Beaqonlins on one of a Friday in May 2018!
Gathering under the hot sun, we had a 15 mins safety briefing by the game master, after which we gather our ‘weapons’ of destruction and off we go for our shooting spree in our groups~!
We have 2 winning teams at the end of the day, resulted from 3 rounds of ‘exchanged-fire’. Two individuals are recognized by the game master for their effort in the game:
- The Ultimate Fighter – Dean Chua
- Honorary Title: L.K.Y aka Lead, Kill & Yell – Mikky Chua
It’s great fun having team bonding and doing strategy together, taking turns to be ‘terrorists’ planting bomb and counter-terrorists defusing the bomb! All of us brought back big and small ‘souvenirs’ (bruises) from this memorable occasion. Ouch!!

Over one of the weekend in October, the Communications and Infrastructure Solution team self-organize a short R&R trip to Penang.
The stay was among the rustic streets of George Town, filled with interesting street arts and with access to good old ‘dim sum in push cart’ breakfast. The team didn’t miss the ‘must-eats’ street food like Penang laksa, Popiah, Char KoayTeow, sweet & cooling dessert Cendol and many more! The long exploration walks took us to places like the friendship park with the ‘I Love Penang’ icon and The Cenotaph War Memorial by the sea. We also get to visit the Kek Lok Si Temple, the largest Buddhist temple in Penang with an impressive view. We finished off the trip with a sumptuous buffet dinner at the Top View Restaurant & Lounge at Komtar, a dining experience with a 360-degree highest panoramic view of Penang.
Everyone pool money together to make this awesome trip possible. Special thanks to our division head Celeb Cheng for topping up the difference, Mikky Chua and Alfred Khoo for meal treats, trip facilitators Fiona Chye and Eugene Lin and our very own Beaqon tour guide – Ricko Chong! Also, to Spring Chua for giving us a pleasant surprise with an impromptu appearance too! Everyone contributed one way or another; it was a great trip to catch up with each other and had a fabulous time!
